“Children of Gods” review by Metalourgio

Epic heavy metal flows in the new album and you can see this from the intro of the album “Overture To Olympus” that could easily adorn an epic series or movie, even a documentary. The album’s flagship is at number eight with wonderful composition and poetic aura. The aggressive “God of War” is coming to put us on the path of tension. Sharp notes, fighting rhythms and high lyrical voice notes. An excellent combination.

“Children of Gods” review by The Forgotten Scroll

That’s what happens if you put your faith to a band; you have a big, kind-of smirky grin on your face, pleased and happy for their success, thinking “I told you so!”

Well, it’s reasonable to think that I cannot know if GRAYWITCH will actually make a success with their new album but they have ALREADY accomplished the main goal of this second work of theirs; “Children of Gods” is a MUCH BETTER album than its predecessor. Thus, I think that the bet is won – and in my opinion, there were so much at stake because GRAYWITCH had to make a lot of changes to improve as a band.

It’s always motivating reading great review 🙂

English Translation

It seems like having some of Europe’s most epic mythos in their cultural heritage gives Greek Heavy Metal musicians a predisposition for excellence.

Already in 2020 I was talking to you about the Steel Arctus combo which sent a hell of a mess; today it is Graywitch that we will praise.

The visual universe of the group is dark, almost shamanic, but Graywitch is not of this kind (very adorable moreover) which speaks of witch while moping in the heaviest and lugubrious Metal.

From the Heavy Metal of Graywitch emerges a real wild power, very positive. It’s the kind of album with which you imagine yourself turning up the sound on the highway, windows wide open. It’s Heavy with a very modern sound, but which has drunk on all the good things, between Manowar (especially when it comes to talking about “Metal”, explicitly) and Grave Digger, with a hint of Dragonforce and of Visigoth, a finger of Helloween, a whisper of Cirith Ungol, the touch of Iron Maiden and Manilla Road that goes well.

In short, it’s good, it hits hard with sharp riffs, songs with strong scenic potential, galloping, a snare loaded with reverb that slams the eardrums, harmonies in thirds that every man of taste knows how to taste. An anthology of recipes that work to refresh the old.

Another great review coming from Rock Da Vinci.

“When Aphrodite became a witch, the night was filled with steel and fire”
Heavy Metal Is The Law και έτσι η Αφροδίτη φοράει Perfecto και κάνει Headbanging σε Heavy Metal ρυθμούς!

Graywitch Rise of the Witch Metal Hammer Greece

“Rise of the Witch” review by “Metal Hammer Greece”

We are so excited to read the review of the greatest Heavy Metal printed magazine in Greece, “Metal Hammer & Heavy Metal” 🙂

Read the review below:

“Rise of the Witch” review by “Power Metal Warrior”

8.5/10 A great way to start the week is reading the “Rise of the Witch” review by “Power Metal Warrior“.

Translation:

You can hear that they love the 80’s and this music flows straight from their hearts. It is also worth praising the singer Dino Nassis, who has a charismatic voice that may not be overwhelming with aggression, but with an interesting manner and hard rock claw.

Prawdziwe cudo. Echa wczesnego helloween można wyłapać w rozpędzonym i agresywnym “The rise”. Na sam koniec dostajemy “Realms of the unseen”, w którym band zabiera nas w rejony bardziej epickie.

Translation:

I have chills with the extended “My Comrade” , which perfectly mixes heavy metal and power metal patents. There’s a lot going on in this piece and every play is ear-catching. A real miracle. Echoes of early helloween can be caught in the speeding and aggressive “The rise”. Graywitch shows that they are a mature band that knows what they want to play. At the end we get “Realms of the unseen”, in which the band takes us to more epic regions.

They have an excellent new ten track album out now called 'Children of Gods' which clocks in at around fifty minutes long and is the bands sophomore full length release.

Powerplay Rock and Metal Magazine

There is variety on this Graywitch album. There’s the double bass driven heavy metal of “Odysseus” and the Iron Maiden like gallop on “The One.” Graywitch go for the heavy metal epic with “Over the Red Sky” and the acoustic beginning and end to “Holy Lands” adds depth.

The melodies are a strong point of the album. Everything sounds crystal clear, like how it should be ... This album makes you beg for more! If you are a fan of bands like Helloween and Blind Guardian, and/or a mythology freak, do not miss it!

There are hot axe solos, commanding vocals, orchestral nuances and a general feel of serious metal being played, and with nary a flake of cheese in sight... it’s good to see bands evolve positively and I sense that if they stick to their weapons then Graywitch may find a new fan base and do well on the festival circuit.

Yes, it’s true: GRAYWITCH evolved and expanded in the best way possible, bringing out a classy, compact album, so enjoyable to listen to from start to finish! I dare to say that they can now be counted among the great Hellenic epic metal forces.
